ProTek Partners provides end-to-end construction ERP data migration and system conversion services designed to help organizations move from legacy systems into modern ERP platforms through a structured, repeatable, multi-pass conversion methodology.

ProTek works with the client and implementation team to understand the legacy applications, data sources, ERP modules, and business requirements that shape the conversion. We review historical and active records, reporting needs, regulatory considerations, ownership, interfaces, dependencies, and cutover requirements. Together, we determine what should be converted, summarized, archived, retained in the legacy system, or excluded, establishing the foundation for the conversion strategy.
ProTek evaluates source data to identify quality issues that could affect conversion accuracy or usability. We assess duplicate records, missing fields, invalid values, obsolete information, inconsistent formatting, incomplete master data, and mapping conflicts. Working with the client, we determine which issues should be corrected before migration, addressed through conversion rules, or intentionally excluded, creating a cleaner and more reliable foundation for subsequent conversion passes.
ProTek connects legacy data structures to the new ERP through documented mappings and business rules. This includes financial, Job Cost, project, payroll, HCM, and operational information, from account structures and balances to employees, contracts, equipment, and master records. Each major mapping decision receives a defined business rule so the conversion remains consistent, traceable, and understandable across the team, without depending on knowledge held by individual contributors.
ProTek develops or coordinates the processes needed to extract, clean, transform, map, and load data into the new ERP. Depending on the implementation, this may involve conversion templates, import utilities, SQL, APIs, ETL processes, transformation scripts, spreadsheet mappings, or ERP-native tools. The approach reflects the source system, target environment, data volume, complexity, and implementation requirements, translating approved mapping decisions into repeatable conversion routines.
The first conversion pass tests whether the conversion design works as intended. ProTek evaluates whether records load successfully, reach the correct locations, contain required fields, and preserve expected structures and relationships. We also review mapping behavior, transformation rules, and rejected records. This pass is expected to reveal issues, which are documented and corrected before the next cycle to strengthen the conversion’s structural foundation.
The second conversion pass builds on structural improvements with a stronger focus on data quality and reconciliation. ProTek reviews record counts, control totals, financial balances, Job Cost, AP, AR, contracts, commitments, payroll, and master data. Business users become more involved in reviewing converted information and investigating exceptions. The objective is a substantially cleaner conversion supported by detailed checks that establish confidence in the data.
Business validation confirms that converted information is accurate and meaningful to the people who use it. Accounting, payroll, operations, project teams, and executives review the financial data, employee information, project structures, contracts, commitments, and reporting relevant to their responsibilities. ProTek organizes the validation process, tracks discrepancies, documents corrections, and helps drive issues toward resolution, while business owners remain responsible for confirming that the results meet their needs.
The Mock Go-Live rehearses production conversion under conditions that resemble the actual cutover as closely as practical. ProTek tests final extraction procedures, transformation routines, conversion sequencing, dependencies, timing, validation, and reconciliation. The rehearsal also checks issue escalation, resource availability, and signoff procedures. By exercising the complete process before production, the team can identify remaining gaps and assess whether it is ready to proceed with confidence.
ProTek develops or supports a detailed cutover plan that defines how production conversion will proceed. The plan establishes legacy-system cutoff, final transaction and extraction timing, conversion sequencing, dependencies, responsibilities, validation ownership, and reconciliation procedures. It also defines go/no-go checkpoints, issue escalation, and final approval. Each participant should understand what must happen, when it must happen, and who owns each activity throughout the transition.
Production conversion puts the tested conversion plan into action. ProTek executes or supports the established process, following the sequencing, responsibilities, validation procedures, and approval checkpoints confirmed during preparation. The first data pass proves the structure, the second proves the data, and the Mock Go-Live proves the process. Production brings those results together in a coordinated execution designed to reduce uncertainty and support a controlled transition.
ProTek supports continued validation as users begin working in the new ERP and issues become visible through normal operations. This includes reviewing balances, Job Cost, AP, AR, payroll, and reporting, while addressing missing records, mapping issues, data corrections, and user questions. Conversion-related troubleshooting helps resolve remaining discrepancies, stabilize the environment, and build confidence that the converted information supports everyday business activities reliably.
ProTek helps stabilize struggling conversions when loads fail, timelines slip, balances don’t reconcile, or ownership is unclear. We assess the issues, prioritize corrections, and guide the conversion through reconciliation, validation, and go-live rehearsal—helping you regain control without restarting the entire implementation.
We understand that construction data isn’t just rows and columns. It represents jobs, contracts, commitments, labor, cost, revenue, billing, WIP, and financial performance.
Successful conversions require both. Our approach connects business requirements with the technical processes required to execute them.
We don’t rely on one final conversion and hope everything works.
Convert. Validate. Refine. Repeat.
We can work across legacy systems, new ERP platforms, internal teams, and third-party vendors while keeping the client’s successful transition at the center of the engagement.
ProTek can lead the entire conversion workstream or supplement specific areas where additional expertise is needed.
We can remain engaged through stabilization, optimization, reporting, integrations, training, and ongoing ERP support.
ProTek works alongside your ERP vendor, implementation partners, internal teams, and other consultants. We can lead the entire conversion or provide targeted expertise in governance, validation, reconciliation, and development, tailoring our role to your implementation’s needs.
